Fingerprint Labyrinth
The Fingerprint Labyrinth is a full-size, interactive fabric installation that invites participants to walk a path of mindfulness, solidarity, and reflection.
Created by the London Family Group of the Iona Community’s network of activists, this project presents an invitation to reflect on the freedom to protest. The recent heavy sentencing of young climate activists inspired Kaz Reeves to write her poem “Sunflowers,” which sits at the centre of the experience alongside Meg Wroe’s paintings and a musical soundscape by Pat Livingstone.
As you move through the labyrinth, participants were invited to:
Walk the Labyrinth to find a moment of stillness and reflection.
Listen and read original poetry and music.
Leave your mark by adding your own fingerprint to the fabric as an act of solidarity.
Stitch or write a message on the "Ribbon of Hope."
Having already visited sites like the Isle of Iona, Southwark Cathedral, and Wittenberg, Germany, the labyrinth was toured from June to November 2025. It moved through community settings across the UK, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, creating a physical network of resistance and hope.
Project team: Poet Kaz Reeves, visual artist Meg Wroe, composer Patricia Livingstone, and activist Catriona Robertson.
