Lab Memoria

Based in Colombia and commissioned as part of Narratives of the Future in Colombia, Lab Memoria is a multidisciplinary collective whose purpose is to create artistic devices, processes, and sensitive experiences around the community, territory, art, and the appropriation and dissemination of the contents of the Final Report of the Truth Commission in Colombia.

Based on this premise, three devices inspired by the “Teatro Lambe-Lambe” will be created. These are miniature theater boxes placed on a tripod with sound and video projections, allowing for an immersive transmedia experience based on micro-stories related to community, nature, hope, resilience, human and non-human suffering, and the intersection between activism and art.

The inputs that nourish these small theaters are some of the soundscapes of “Sonido y Memoria: relatos del porvenir”, available on the website of the Truth Commission (https://comisiondelaverdad.co/volumen-testimonial), as well as filmed and broadcast images on the YouTube channel of the Truth Commission. From the conscious and unconscious sensitivity that these inputs generate, metaphors of those realities will be composed, and transmitted as poetic experiences.

One spectator will experience each device at a time, once everyone passes through at least one of the devices, a meeting space will open up to talk based on the sensations and perceptions of the individual experience, as a preamble to the introduction of the key questions about the chosen themes. The activity concludes with collaboration in a collective creation format as a "gesture" (understood within the context of dramatic art as a collective and powerful composition of actions that communicate intentions, emotions, metaphors, and contents, whose languages can be diverse, where the body, sound, space and some alternative materials and objects to choose from, typical of the context of the territory are involved).
